Happy Birthday Arnold!
On July 30, it was once again time to celebrate Arnold’s birthday! Hundreds of fans, long-time companions and friends of the museum gathered to sing “Happy Birthday” to congratulate Arnold on his 77th birthday.
The sportsmanship of our visitors was put to the test! Numerous participants stepped up to face our pull-up challenge head-on. Particularly impressive was the performance of 81-year-old Werner Wistuba, who set the record to beat with 25 pull-ups. Congratulations to all the winners, who went home with great prizes!
In addition to muscle power, brains were also required. In two
exciting quiz rounds, we tested our visitors’ knowledge of Arnold’s film career. The clever minds that came out on top also received great prizes – congratulations!
A special highlight was the ceremonial unveiling of the artwork “Friends for Life”. The picture shows Arnold with his childhood friend Peter Urdl, who have been friends for decades. The new work of art can now be admired in the museum garden.
Of course, a birthday cake was not to be missed!
Governor Christopher Drexler had the honor of cutting it. Arnold himself was sadly not on site to have a piece, but we connected him live from his film set in Toronto. In a heartfelt video call, Arnold thanked us for the birthday serenade and the many congratulations and told us that he would enjoy his birthday despite having to work.
The day was rounded off perfectly with Arnold’s favorite dishes such as schnitzel and apple strudel. A big thank you to the ÖKB for the fantastic catering.
A big thank you to our loyal and ever-growing museum community! You made this day very special. As a place of inspiration, it is our wish that you went home invigorated and full of new energy.
